Things I Hate, Part 1

Daylight Savings Time. Why? It doesn't do me any good, since either way, it's dark when I wake up at 9:30 p.m. And it means that when I get off work at 7:30 a.m. and drive east, I'm facing right into the glare of the freshly-risen sun. I might feel more sanguine about it if I was driving west.

Dude, I feel your pain.

When I bought my house, I only considered locations that would allow me to drive to & from work with the sun behind me. All the oncoming drivers have their visors down and hands held up in front of their eyes as secondary shields. Even good polarized sunglasses won't eliminate that blinding sunrise on a clear day.

Feel like moving across town?

I want my hour back.

Nothing like a little sunlight in your eyes and the glare to make for a bad drive.

You're actuarially likely to get it back, Mary. Just think about the poor old people who will die between last Sunday and October and WON'T get their hour back!

actuarially. wow. try saying that three times fast. it feels like chewing a oversized mouthful of thick fudge brownie with gooey caramel. really works ones chops.

So you're saying that, statistically speaking, I will probably live to see October.

Exactly. :-) Indeed, you'll probably live to see quite a few more Octobers.
